In 1999, Ralph purchased the #22-Maxwell House — a 1991 Ford Thunderbird (pdf), which raced on the Winston Cup circuit from 1991 to 1993, and captured the pole position at the Daytona 500 in 1992. The car has been restored to its original racing condition and is currently being raced in the Historic Stock Car Racing Series (HSCRS) in events up and down the West Coast.
Take the Ride of Your Life Borelli Racing and Borelli Investment Company have been driving forces behind HSCRS Ride of Your Life—an opportunity to experience the thrill of auto racing first-hand, while contributing to Canary Foundation’s worthwhile causes. Leading owners—including Ralph Borelli—of classic NASCAR stock cars have made the passenger seat in their cars available to selected Canary Foundation donors to ride in the Historic Stock Car Racing Series (HSCRS) race held on the San José Grand Prix circuit on Saturday morning. Founded in 2004 by high-technology executive Don Listwin, Canary Fund is dedicated to helping researchers find new ways to detect cancer in its earliest, most curable stages. (Canary Fund draws its name from the use of canaries as an early warning system to alert miners about dangerous carbon monoxide conditions in coal mines.) View the latest newsletter from The Canary Foundation. Generous contributors to the HSCRS Ride of Your Life will see, feel and hear everything the driver does as cars hurtle around the course at speeds of up to 140 mph. All money raised by the HSCRS goes directly to Canary Foundation. To-date, HSCRS has raised more than $100,000 through various events and activities. To donate, contact Ralph Borelli at ralph@borelli-inv.com or by calling (408) 453-4700. Find out more about Canary Foundation. Where to Catch Borelli Racing (if you can!)
